Backend Infrastructure Built for Uptime + Scale
Databases, hosting, deployment pipelines, and the operational backbone that keeps your application up — built on modern infra without enterprise complexity.
The boring infrastructure that means you never call us at 3am.
Backend infrastructure is invisible until it's broken — and then it's catastrophic. The database design that doesn't scale. The hosting setup that goes down at 3am. The deploy pipeline so fragile nobody touches it. The monitoring that doesn't actually alert. These are the ten thousand small things that separate a system that runs your business from one that holds it hostage.
We build infrastructure that's modern but boring. PostgreSQL for the database. A real VPS or edge platform for hosting. CI/CD that ships safely. Monitoring that pages the right person. Backups that have actually been restored. The boring stuff that means you never have to think about it.
What we set up. What we hand over.
- Database design + Postgres setup with backups and replication where needed
- Custom backend (Node.js, Python, Go) with proper API design
- Hosting infrastructure (VPS, Kubernetes if scale demands it, or edge functions)
- CI/CD pipelines — git push deploys safely, with rollback
- Monitoring + alerting (uptime, performance, error rates) with real on-call routing
- Security review (auth, rate limiting, secrets management, vulnerability scanning)
- Disaster recovery — backups that have been tested, not just configured
- Operations runbook so a future engineer (or us) can take over without guesswork
Audit → propose → migrate → monitor.
- 01
Architecture audit
We review your current setup, your pain points, and your scale requirements. You get a written "what we'd change and why" with priorities.
- 02
Fixed-price proposal
Within 72 hours, a written plan with phases. Each phase is a finished, working piece of infrastructure — never a half-finished migration.
- 03
Migrate + harden
Zero-downtime migrations where possible. New systems run in parallel with old until verified. Cutover happens on a weekend.
- 04
Monitor + test
Load testing under realistic traffic. Failover drills. Backup restore drills. We don't trust "it works in dev".
- 05
Ongoing operation
Optional retainer for ongoing monitoring, scaling, and incident response. Or we hand the keys to your team with full documentation.
Modern infra. Sensible defaults.
When the next outage will cost you the company.
- Companies whose product has outgrown a no-code platform's limits
- SaaS businesses with growing traffic and a backend held together by hope
- Founders inheriting a codebase whose previous agency left no documentation
- Engineering teams that need a senior infra partner without hiring a full-time DevOps
Phase pricing. Audit included.
Fixed-quote per project or phase. Migrations and audits typically run $5–25k and complete in 2–6 weeks. Ongoing monitoring + on-call retainers start at a modest monthly fee.
Real questions about real infra.
Do I need Kubernetes?
Almost certainly not. Most businesses we work with run great on a single well-configured VPS or on Vercel + Postgres. We use Kubernetes only when actual scale or compliance requires it — never for resume-building.
What database should I use?
Postgres for 95% of cases. It's mature, fast, well-supported, and handles relational + JSON + full-text + vector workloads. We use something else only when there's a specific reason.
How do I know my data is backed up?
We configure automated backups (daily off-site, hourly snapshots for critical systems) AND test them. A backup that's never been restored is not a backup. We restore one as part of the engagement.
What's the difference between hosting and infrastructure?
Hosting is where your code runs. Infrastructure is everything else: database, CI/CD, monitoring, secrets, networking, alerting, on-call. We do both, integrated.
Can you take over an existing infrastructure setup?
Yes. We start with a paid audit — usually a few days — and give you a written assessment of what's stable, what's risky, and what we'd change first. Then a quote for the fixes.
On-call?
Yes, with a retainer. Real pager rotation, real response SLAs, real incident reports.
